Flying Eagles Vs Sudan

On Tuesday night under the floodlights of the National Stadium, the Flying Eagles had their last training in Abuja after being informed that their Sudan game would be played in the night at about 8pm Nigerian time.

Abuja city gate: Welcome to Abuja

The sudden change in time is believed to be a calculated attempt by the Sudanese to see if they could cancel the five-goal deficit they had suffered in the hands of the Flying Eagles in Abuja about 2 weeks ago.

However, the Chief Coach of the team, Ladan Bosso, had said they would not take the Sudanese game lightly despite having an outstanding advantage over the Sudanese.

"It is not yet time for celebration until after the game in Sudan. I am going to maintain the team that won here in Abuja except for those players who are injured", Bosso had said.

“The Sudanese, who played against us are not pushovers and after conceding all those goals, they would not want to be disgraced in their own country.

So, they will come all out for us. Our plan is to ensure we also win them on their home ground," he had added.

The team would be in Lagos today for their onward flight to Khartoum, Sudan. And should be on their way at about now.

The Sudanese need to score six goals against the Flying Eagles to overcome them, but the Nigerian players vowed to play their lives out to ensure victory.

Reports monitored on various sports websites confirm that the team captain, Haruna Lukman, had promised thus: "We beat them here in Nigeria and we are going to beat them in Sudan. We are aware that it might be a little bit more difficult there, but by God’s grace, we shall come out victorious."

This promise may not have come easy knowing Nigeria's penchant for late preparations, but the fans appear to have taken it so well.

Similarly, other members of the Nigerian team towed the path of their team captain and promised they were poised to humiliate the Sudanese right in front of their home crowd.
