The The Minister of Education, Prof. Ruqayyatu Rufai, on Tuesday revealed plans by the Federal Government to implement a one-year strategic plan to halt the drift in the education sector.
Rufai said this at a meeting of heads of parastatals and key officers of the Ministry of Education, in Abuja.
She explained that the current administration was aware of the short time left and was doing all it could to address the problems facing education.
According to her, “The plan will target specific strategies that will enhance the sector within the shortest possible time.
“It will also be in line with the Education Roadmap for the purpose of continuity leading to the overall development of the sector.
“Emphasis will be on access and equity, standards and quality assurance.”
