Ambode warns unions, motorists against flouting traffic rules

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State says road users, especially members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers and Road Transport Employees Association of Nigeria, must obey the state traffic laws or face the consequences.

Ambode stated this on Saturday during the inauguration of the Ketu-Alapere slip road on Oluwakemi Street, Alapere, in the Kosofe Local Government Area.

Ambode, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Dr Idiat Adebule, noted that the indiscipline of many commercial drivers, as well as a few private motorists on the road often caused gridlock.

Ambode added that the Ketu-Alapere facility was aimed at ending the gridlock in the area, as well as creating another route to link the Lagos Mainland and Island through the Third Mainland Bridge.
